Katie in VA had a very special drawing request…a custom cartoon of her, her husband and pets at the beach. In her words:

I would like a drawing of my husband and me for our 2nd year wedding anniversary. For the past two years (honeymoon and first year) we had one done, but this year I had cancer surgery in July. I would like to surprise him by using a photo of us. If possible, I would like to include our chihuahua and cat.

Naturally I have a soft spot for cartoon drawing requests like this one. It meant even more that Katie was happy with the results:

I received the drawing today and cannot wait to show Nathan when he comes home from work. It is absolutely adorable and exceeded my expectations. I have been having a really rough day with my recovery, and receiving your drawing made my day! From our outfits to the beach background to Holly wearing sunglasses, everything is perfect! Thank you so much!

Update October 27, 2015:

Thank you for your prayers! I am blessed to share that I am cancer free, praise the Lord! I have also attached a photo of the matte that I created to frame your beautiful drawing with the shells that I collected from our trip to the beach. It is hanging in a white frame with our different drawings from our anniversaries and celebrations.
